Document: Welcome Package

Resource Based Economy Foundation

Welcome Package

Welcome to the Foundation. We were established to improve the lives of the People all over the world. As our communications spread, we as a People start to share our goals and beliefs. We are here to support and help you and/or your organization.

If you want to help end poverty, scarcity, or simply help the People in your neighborhood RBEF chapter, we will make sure every dollar is accounted for and the resources are not wasted. The Foundation is also developing strong communities in every city around the world to increase the level of influence you have on your government. A strong informed community will pick leaders who want the best for the people. If they turn out to be two-faced, the community will oust the old leader and put a more truthful one in place. We will assist you in the developing process of making a local community from the national and/or international level.

This document, a.k.a package, will guide you through everything you'll need to know to get nice and cozy in this dynamic foundation. I highly recommend, before you find out the details of RBEF, by reading this rather simplistic Introduction to RBEF..
Now, getting back to the package. First, I find it important to get you used to the site, as we have many features that you will be able to use.
In the Resource Based Economy Foundation, we divided it up into multiple groups. These groups range from information gathering to developing the Venux Operating System.

Groups

Engine Unit:
The EnU is the global strategic decision and coordination center.
The Engine Unit can also be perceived as a strategic decision and direction (coordination) center for project's coordinators - making sure that all projects work together efficiently. The Engine Unit is logically divided into four general sections: Administrative, AuxBiz, AuxDev and Research. Each section is under a direct control of assigned EnU member(s). You may contact this group at
engineunit@rbefoundation.com

Global Cooperation Group:
This group coordinates and accords with any organization that has interest in RBEF, its goals, actions, et cetera. This group works with the Information Gathering & Promotional Group (IGPG) to get resources out to organizations, and helps distribute useful information from all groups. You may contact Steve Sojo, the coordinator of this group, at steve.sojo@rbefoundation.com .

Global NPOs Network Group:
The primary goal of the group is to cover the area of everyday cooperation and communication within the RBEF's NPO legal network in the various countries. The Group is responsible for the smooth communication , creation and coordination of NPO's in the countries for the legal operations of the RBEF. later on it is going to manage the RMP - Resource Management Platform. You may seem more information on this group by clicking here.
Within the Global NPOs Network Group, there is multiple sub-groups:

Global RBEF:
The Global RBEF deals with matters such as the U.S.A NPO and the setting up of multiple non-profit organization branches around the world.

Resource Management Platform
This group is a group of software developers that are developing the central platform for all RBE project requests, project presentation, subscription and for the transparent resources and donations management system.
Information Gathering & Promotional Group (IGPG):
This group deals with all the information that gets threaded into and out of the organization, promoting RBEF and answering any questions that may arise regarding the organization.
If you feel, after you get comfortable and have a good understanding of what a RBE is and what the organization stands for, you can contact Joshua Strobl, the coordinator of this group, at joshstrobl@rbefoundation.com or admin@globalcommunityportal.com .
Within the Information Gathering & Promotional Group, there are many subgroups called Teams or Foundations. Here is the current list of teams/foundations under IGPG:
I & P Technology (Hardware) Team (Within IGPG):
You are probably curious, why is there two groups, both the Software Development Group and the I & P Technology Team. The huge difference is the I & P Tech. Team deals with hardware related issues, along discussing the development of the financial distribution system, help foundation ticket system and development of the RBEF Site. This group will also discuss HTML5 and XML technologies, hardware compatiblility, etc. The main purpose is to assist and cooperate with the Software Development team by providing suggestions and requests.

Help Foundation (Within IGPG)

The Help Foundation (FAQ Team) is a team of experts working to solve questions regarding the Resource Based Economy system, RBEF and multiple organization that it has ties to. It will also have a handy and smart search engine in which it you may ask questions and it will give you the most accurate answers within our database. This team is currently in it's "ideas" phase, so a coordinator is yet to be assigned, we are also waiting for the Help Foundation software to reach query and be built.

Promotional Team (Within IGPG)

The Promotional Team is a team of experts in the field of advertising, marketing, sales and SEO marketing. This group's sole responsibility is the promotion and advertising of the Resource Based Economy Foundation and later, it's sponsors. The main contact point for this group is DharmaOKC@rbefoundation.com

Software Development Group:
This group programs and designs the Venux Operating System and the RBEF Site. They allow all the users to have the ability to do particular things such as writing documents, viewing documentaries, and so much more from the back-end. If you are a web designer or programmer, please read the recommendations below before contacting venux@rbefoundation.com

We are also getting the Business Section that deals with the financial sector of RBEF, and the Research Section, up and running, and possibly will be completely functional by the time you are done reading and getting cozy in RBEF.

Open Source Guide

Open Source Guide is a guide to finding free, open source software for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. RBEF, and its affiliate Global Community Portal, finds this important, to spread the love of software freedom. So an open source guide has been developed. This guide offers the following:
  1. A thorough understanding of what open source means
  2. A quick explanation of open source licenses such as GNU v3.0, BSD and other licenses
  3. List of open source software for Windows, Linux, Mac and will, in the future, offer software downloads for FreeBSD and Sun Solaris. Way down the line, this guide will function as an XML software for the Venux operating system in which it will offer many handy modules, editing clients, etc all from the web.
  4. List of Free Distributions Downloads, all for free and quick downloads. The downloads are .iso images, which you can burn onto a DVD and install on your computer.

To view this open source guide, visit Global Community Portal at http://globalcommunityportal.com/gcp/opensource , free software downloads at http://globalcommunityportal.com/gcp/software and to download free distributions such as FreeBSD, Open Solaris and a countless amount of Linux distros, go to http://globalcommunityportal.com/gcp/distros .

Here at the Resource Based Economy Foundation, we have a huge belief in the constant flow of knowledge and information. We created the documentaries section so you can have some of the best documentaries for you to watch for free, at the click of a button. RBEF References
As the knowledge of what a RBE is and as the RBEF grows, many groups feel that it would be a good idea to work, merge or be affiliated with the Resource Based Economy Foundation. The premise behind this is not for advertising purposes, but because those groups have some goal in mind that RBEF and the group shares and/or the group feels that being a branch of the RBEF would allow more members to join and help spread whatever the groups goals are.
The following groups are affiliated with the Resource Based Economy Foundation:
    Atlas Initiative Group:
The mission of the Atlas Initiative Group (Atlas City Project) is to design, plan and build Atlas City in America, providing a peaceful transition model from a monetary based system economy to a resource based system economy demonstrated through an advanced city which will maximize automation and provide the highest standard of living for its participants.
Global Community Portal:
Global Community Portal hosts the open source page, download center, and is even planning on the release of a completely Venux-based Internet Service with a Venux laptop prototype to be released early summer of 2010.

Registration of Resources

To help you spread knowledge that should be known by everyone, this guide will give you a pathway to establishing your information, ideas, and so much more. Diversity in information is key, we do not focus on information just regarding a RBE, however that is good. When you want to register your resources and thoroughly explain your ideas, you should be able to.
There are two ways to register your resources, through multiple resources:

1. Resource Based Economy Foundation
Currently, RBEF is limited to the resources you are able to “establishâ€. For instance, if you made a video, posted it on Youtube, you are able to copy and paste the youtube URL into a documentaries post, using the format presented here . Also, you have the ability to upload documents ranging from word and powerpoints to excel and pictures. However, unless you want to have a multi-page forum post regarding your idea, I do not recommend it, but as far as video, document posting, and short ideas goes, its great!

2. Global Community Portal

When using Global Community Portal, you have the capability of making a whole, miniature website for your idea, written in HTML, and/or basic text. Using the wikipage structure that GCP offers, its easy to write a wikipage and simply post the link inside the categories area, by editing the category you want with your link in it! Or, you can contact the site manager, and he will post it in a category for you, so your idea can get out fast and simple.

You have the capabilities of posting videos via a registered FTP account, share them with your friends and even watch them on RBEF. You can do this by clicking here and also reading the README.txt file.
Both sites are amazing for registering your resources, if you have any further questions regarding this subject however, you can gladly contact Joshua Strobl at joshstrobl@rbefoundation.com

3. Atlas Initiative

The Atlas Initiative is creating a manual that all topics from the actual creation of the city (Atlas City), to the behavior of it's inhabitants, to the advanced technology that is contained within it. This manual is editable only by people who already have a grasp of the mindset required to work on this project. For more information click here or contact Rob Bell.
